Session: Breaking Down Workplace Barriers for Female Immigrants in Tech
From her beginnings in Mumbai, India studying mechanical engineering to her work as an executive in Silicon Valley at renowned technology companies including Oracle and Pure Storage, Krithika Bhat has had a long and successful career in technology. In fact, as the current CIO at Pure Storage, Krithika Bhat is responsible for driving technology-enabled business transformation, setting overall strategy and defining and executing the roadmap for technology infrastructure and business applications throughout the company.
But her journey has been no easy feat. A woman in technology with a career spanning decades, Krithika has faced and overcome countless challenges and uphill battles throughout her life and in the IT industry. However, she persevered. Krithika is a strong believer that diversity in tech is a game-changer. Not only does it drive better decision-making and faster innovation, but it also leads to products and services that are tailored to the needs of a wider range of customers. Krithika’s career serves as proof that breaking down barriers is not only a possibility, but also translates to smart business strategy.
In this session, Krithika will share lessons learned and advice to both women starting their careers in technology - and those who are in the midst of their careers in technology - to help them overcome the numerous hurdles, stereotypes and generalizations that often plague women in the workplace.

Bhat has had a long and successful career in technology and has been recognised for her leadership. While at Oracle, she won the Oracle Women’s Leadership award for her hard work and exemplary leadership.
